My favorite of the Disney Renaissance films is, by far, Beauty and the Beast. It’s been the case since I was a little kid. I don’t know if it was Angela Lansbury singing the titular song, or relating to Belle wanting “adventure in the great wide somewhere,” but this film just resonated deeply with me. I even animated my own versions of the songs using PowerPoint 98 with audio from the soundtrack synchronized to gliding, dancing characters.
You can imagine my excitement when further plans for New Fantasyland were announced in early 2011 that a Beauty and the Beast themed restauarant would be added to the planned expansion to Magic Kingdom® Park. Be Our Guest opened in December of 2012 after several weeks of testing. In one word, it’s magical. Disney Parks are really designed to take you to places you couldn’t otherwise go, and Be Our Guest does exactly that. The main dining room is the perfect reproduction of the ballroom and the other two bring other surprises. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing. That alone is enough to visit.
I’ve had the joy to visit for both lunch and dinner, and both are great options. You’ll need reservations for both, however lunch is a quick-serivce experience while dinner is table service. This past July, changes to the dinner menu now feature a prix fixe three-course culinary experience. This new expeirence is now two table service credits. Lunch is one quick-service credit. The steak is incredible as is the croque monsieur.
This is one of the most popular restuarants at the Walt Disney World® resort, so you’ll definitely want to book as soon as you can. Ask your Mouseways Disney Vacation Specialist about making your trip even more magical!
